Construction Law, Adjudication & Arbitration
Construction Law is the body of Contract Law relating to the rights, responsibilities and obligations of participants in a construction process. Participants can be the employers, their contractors and sub-contractors, professionals such as architects, engineers (civil, mechanical and electrical), project managers and quantity surveyors. The construction process of a building or infrastructure project is complicated and disputes are commonplace. Construction Law includes not just the contractual obligations of the parties but very specific procedures to resolve disputes.
It is not uncommon for disputes to arise between employers and their contractors. These disputes are resolved through an adjudication process, arbitration or court proceeding.
